Working as part of our delivery team…..

This covers:

• Supporting the discovery team during and after client discovery sessions to come up with the most effective solutions for client projects.

• Architecting and implementing client solutions so we can ensure that security, maintainability, scalability, and technical debt have a consistent and maintainable approach.

• Building responsive, performant, and standards-compliant web pages and components using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant libraries and framework

• Writing clean testable, and well-documented back- and front-end code

• Configuring and maintaining deployment pipelines  

• Reviewing code produced to ensure it aligns with our standards and best practices.

• Managing our cloud environments to ensure we are choosing the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions.

• Actively participating in sprint ceremonies including daily stand-ups and fortnightly retrospectives

• Working closely with Project Managers and Product Owners to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery.

• Responsible for delivering projects on budget, on time, to requirements, and with high quality.

• Providing regular and effective progress updates and work closely with Project Managers to ensure the management of any delivery risks or issues.

• Line management and personal development of a team of skilled developers

• Performance and progress evaluations of team members and continual professional development plans outlining any training requirements.

Skills and experience

Ideally, you will have been working in a development lead role for at least 2 years and have experience in an agency or outsourcing environment.

You will also need:

• Demonstrable experience of working and leading development teams in an agency environment, delivering for multiple clients and projects simultaneously

• Experience building bespoke websites (not from themes) with 1 or more modern CMS platforms (ideally Umbraco)

• Experience of implementing accessible, flexible and technically sound responsive CSS layouts from designs and style guides using well-known CSS frameworks

• Experience of writing back-end code in C# (essential), JavaScript, PHP, and/or similar languages

• Experience of working with at least 1 and preferably more databases like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and SQL Server

• Experience of working with 1 or more front end JavaScript frameworks

• In-depth knowledge of either (or both!) Azure or AWS, with a proven track record of using PaaS to speed up development and build more maintainable solutions.

• Expert knowledge of source control systems (GIT) including branching and merging strategies

• Experience in a variety of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall

• Experience in both architecture and implementation-level software design

• Strong facilitation and coaching skills

• Excellent personal organisation and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks.

• Ability to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges.

• Great attention to detail

• The ability to think analytically and break complex problems down into simpler, interconnected steps

Working arrangements

Our teams work from the office at least 2 days a week, although you're welcome to use the office as much as you like. This means you must live within a reasonable distance of our office in Redruth or Bristol.

We're open to full- or part-time candidates, and we're especially keen to hear from anyone looking to return to work after parental leave or a career break.

Salary and benefits

• Salary £45-55k (pro-rata for part-time roles) depending on experience. Salaries are reviewed each and every month by the board
